Since this year Concours Mondial de Bruxelles (CMB) as one of the most important wine competitions in the world has split into four different sessions for red and white wines, rosés, sparklings and sweet and fortified wines. Rosé wines were awarded in Valladodlid (Spain) in March, red and white wines at Cosenza (Italy) in May, sparkling wines will be evaluated in Bairrada Region (Portugal) beginning of July, and as the last one in this 2022 row CMB sweet and fortified wines session will take place in Marsala from September 20 – 23. Western Sicily’s iconic destination epitomises the values associated with sweet and fortified wines. It was therefore only natural that the organisers of the first dedicated session for these styles did choose the region to host the competition. Deadline for entries is August 1st.
